Montrose Ravine - Bat Walk

Join us for a fun and exciting in-person adventure at Montrose Ravine! Discover the mysterious world of bats as we explore their natural habitat with the Leicestershire and Rutland Bat Group. We will have a brief talk about bats before getting out bat detectors (these will be provided by the Leicestershire and Rutland Bat Group) to help us identify the bats we have in the ravine.

Important Information - Please read carefully

We will meet at the Belvoir Drive entrance, which is at the top of Belvoir Drive next to the YMCA. There is on-street parking, but this can get busy. We will open the gates at 8:00 and start the walk at 8:15.

Parents/carers must supervise children throughout the walk. You are responsible for your child's safety throughout the walk.

Please bring a torch and wear appropriate footwear for outdoor walking (sturdy trainers are fine as long as it has been dry).

The event may have to be cancelled in the event of poor weather. We will use the contact details provided to call you if this happens.

We may not see any bats. Unfortunately, the bats don't work to our schedule and they might not appear for an array of reasons. Please mention this to your child/children before the event so they are prepared in case this happens.
