This event will be bookable on Monday 3 August 2026. Make a festive decoration with a difference to hang in your home this festive season and beyond – stars aren’t just for Christmas! In this relaxed 3-hour workshop you’ll make a twisted textured winter star. Using just one macramé knot it’s super easy to create even for the novice crafter. Once completed add some twinkling fair lights and a (macramé) star is born! About the tutor: Tutor Bonita Keay is a Designer Maker with over 15 years of experience teaching crochet and loves to share her creative knowledge with others. She teaches a variety of textile arts as well as macramé, weaving, embroidery and more. When she’s not teaching Bonita makes silver and crystal jewellery and has been selling her work for over 20 years both online and at craft events including our very own Craft & Art Fairs here at Attenborough Arts Centre. Further information: All materials are provided and absolutely no experience is necessary! Participants must be aged 14+. Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times. This half-day workshop will run three times on: Tuesday 10 November 2026, 5:30-8:30pm Wednesday 11 November 2026, 10am-1pm Saturday 21 November 2026, 10:30am-1:30pm Please ensure you book the correct date/time. We’ll then contact you if a place becomes available, with absolutely no obligation to accept it if you’ve made other plans! We have four blue badge parking spaces outside Attenborough Arts Centre, plus double yellow line roadside parking very close to the building for blue badge holders for up to three hours if our parking spaces are occupied. Free parking for all customers is available after 5pm on weekdays and all day at weekends in the University of Leicester car park next door to Attenborough Arts Centre on Lancaster Road. The closest public car park for parking at all other times is Victoria Park, 5-10 minutes walk from us (near De Montfort Hall).
