Back to Business - Perimenopause & Performance at Work: Beyond the Policy is scheduled for 23 September 2026 at Clockwise Offices in Liverpool. Various speakers will discuss how to recognise and manage perimenopause in the workplace. Admission costs £5.00.
How to recognise it, lead through it and manage it well.
Join us for the September edition of Back to Business on Wednesday 23rd at 9:30am - featuring relaxed networking and a specialist HR workshop delivered by Niki Saunders-Fearns, Jennie Detheridge and Dan Wilbeck. With breakfast provided in the ticket, alongside a co-working day pass for the remainder of the day at Clockwise Liverpool.
Perimenopause can affect some of the most experienced and valuable people in an organisation but having a menopause policy alone doesn’t mean managers know what to do when it starts affecting confidence, concentration, attendance or performance.
Beyond the Policy is a practical workshop that brings together the human and HR sides of managing perimenopause at work.
We’ll explore what perimenopause can actually look and feel like in the workplace from changes in confidence, cognition and decision-making to overwhelm and performance and how managers can create the conditions for safe, useful conversations without making assumptions or overstepping boundaries.
Alongside this, we’ll look at the employer’s responsibilities and the practical HR implications when menopause intersects with absence, performance and workplace decisions, including the potential consequences of getting it wrong.
The workshop will cover:
● How perimenopause can show up in confidence, cognition, behaviour and performance
● Why experienced, capable women can suddenly begin questioning their own ability
● How to open a safe conversation without diagnosing, assuming or avoiding the issue
● How managers can support performance without lowering expectations
● Managing menopause-related absence and attendance
● Where menopause sits within existing employment protections and the risks of mishandling performance or dismissal
● What a useful menopause policy should enable in practice rather than simply sitting on the intranet
● Practical actions managers and organisations can take immediately
This isn’t about giving women special treatment. It’s about giving managers the knowledge and confidence to respond appropriately, protect performance and retain experienced talent.
Best suited to
Business owners • HR leaders • People managers • Senior leaders • Line managers
