Be a winner and join this month’s zine club at Black Cat Smithdown Rd! It's zine club ticket time! ✂️ Join us at Black Cat Bar, Coffee & Bottle Shop on Smithdown Road for the next Black Cat Zine Club — and this month we're getting QUIZZICAL! We'll be creating zines together around the theme of quizzes — the ultimate leveller that brings out the best (and worst) in all of us. Who doesn't love a quiz, right?! Whether you want to... ❤️Write your own quiz zine based on your Specialist Subject ❤️Dedicate a fanzine to your fav Chaser ❤️Make a zine about the wackiest quiz prizes you've ever seen ❤️Create an interactive zine packed with Countdown Conundrums ❤️Make a back-to-back Che vs Joe zine about our BC Quiz Kings ❤️Design the most unnecessarily difficult quiz known to humankind ❤️Create a quiz about your friends, your enemies, your favourite things, or your most niche obsession ❤️Or make something completely unique that is GUARANTEED first place! I'll be bringing along some quiz-inspired zine ideas to get you started, but there are no rules — your zine can be as silly, serious, competitive, chaotic or niche as you like. You could fill it with trivia, questions, answers, puzzles, riddles, illustrations, cut-and-paste collage, or anything else your quiz-loving brain can come up with. No zine-making experience is needed and all materials will be provided, so just bring yourself and your specialist subject! Join us from 6–9pm on Tuesday 29th September in the poster room at the back of Black Cat Smithdown. You'll need a ticket as spaces are limited, but half the tickets are free and the rest are available on a pay-what-you-can donation basis (£1+). PLEEEEASE bring a few spare coins on the night as we'll also be fundraising for craft supplies for Safe Space Merseyside 🏳️‍⚧️ As always, Black Cat Zine Club is a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone is encouraged to make, experiment and get creative at their own pace.
