🌿 KATUMBA RHYTHM, BREATH & MOVEMENT: BLACK HISTORY MONTH EDITION 🥁
✨ Drum. Breathe. Move. Connect. ✨
📅 Sunday 18 October
⏰ 2–4pm
🎟️ FREE | Fully funded by The Culture Network LCR
💛 This workshop is created for, and only open to, our Global Majority communities (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_majority)
Join us for a special Creative Global Majority edition of Katumba Rhythm, Breath & Movement, an uplifting and grounding journey through breath, embodied movement, rhythm and collective drumming. 🌿💛
Building on our Rhythm, Breath & Movement sessions, this special workshop takes the journey one step further...
🥁 Drum
🌬️ Breathe
💃🏾 Move
🤝🏾 Connect
We’ll begin by slowing down and reconnecting with ourselves through breath, mindful movement and embodied practices, before gradually building the energy through rhythm, connection and play.
🥁 And this time, we’ll take that journey all the way to the drums!
Unlike our regular Rhythm, Breath & Movement sessions, which are not drumming workshops, this special event will include a collective drumming experience, bringing everything we’ve explored through breath, body and rhythm together in a joyful, powerful shared groove. 🔥
Rooted in Katumba’s Afro-Brazilian practice and our approach to rhythm, movement and wellbeing, this is an opportunity to reconnect with your body, release, have fun and experience the incredible energy of making rhythm together. ❤️🔥
🙌🏾 No drumming, dance or movement experience is needed. Everything will be guided and accessible, and you’re invited to take part in a way that feels right for your body. COME AS YOU ARE.
