Transform old boots into something spectacular with Ameys Shiny Things using colourful imitation gold leaf foils.

Beyond The Rail is a three-day immersive fashion and creative experience by All Over The Shop, taking place at Liverpool Metquarter from 18–20 September 2026 as part of Fashion Britain and London Fashion Week, in collaboration with the British Fashion Council.

Bringing together Liverpool's independent designers, makers and creative community, the weekend will feature hands-on workshops, live making, styling, personalisation, interactive experiences and creative installations throughout the space.

Shiny Gilded Boots Workshop

Join Amey’s Shiny Things and give an old pair of shoes a completely new lease of life.

Bring along your own old leather or faux-leather shoes or boots and learn how to transform them using metallic, multicoloured gold-leaf foils. Amey will guide you through the gilding process, showing you how to turn something you might otherwise throw away into a bold, shiny and completely unique fashion piece.

Don't have a pair of shoes to bring? No problem! Amey will have a selection of second-hand shoes, boots and bags available to gild, so you can still take part and learn the technique.

This is all about upcycling, experimentation and making something fabulous and giving your old tired footwear a new lease of life instead of ending up in the bin!

The workshop takes place in The Workshop at Beyond The Rail, alongside a full weekend programme celebrating Liverpool's independent fashion and creative community.
