**Please RSVP and PAY before attending.** Love reading and talking about it with like-minded women who 'get' you? Enjoy discovering books and having deep discussions in a safe space? Open to hearing different perspectives and seeing the world from various angles? Join us for our monthly Book Club at **The Library Lounge at the Standard Hotel in King's Cross**. In November, we are diving into a novel that quite literally changed history: **D.H. Lawrence's Lady Chatterley’s Lover.** The story follows Constance Chatterley, a young woman trapped in an emotionally sterile, upper-class marriage to an aristocratic husband paralyzed in WWI. Confined to a bleak estate bordering industrial coal fields, Connie experiences a profound physical and spiritual awakening when she begins a passionate affair with the estate’s working-class gamekeeper, Oliver Mellors. Originally published privately in 1928, the novel was **banned** for decades until a landmark 1960 obscenity trial legalised its publication, sparking a cultural revolution. Whether you find Lawrence's prose beautifully liberating or fascinatingly dated, your voice and perspective are needed at the table. Come ready for great conversation, insights, and laughs! **Please note: If there are less than 4 attendees, event will be cancelled and refund will be issued** To ensure we can continue using the venue, please support by purchasing a drink
