Celebrate the poets of the past who continue to inspire us. Your chance to see poets who are no longer with us trading bars in hope of glory! Hosted by award-winning poet, screenwriter and novellist Dean Atta, the Dead Poets Slam is open to living contestants (poets, actors, singers, performers... anyone who wants to have a go) who have three minutes to perform a poem by a favourite poet who is no longer on this Earth. You will have three minutes and may dress up, come in character or just do the poem how you like. A panel of judges will be chosen from the audience to award points for each performer and a winner chosen…the Greatest Poet of All Time? The poets can come from any era or culture, whether classical, Romantic or recently departed and you don't have to be a poet yourself to take part. 1st place prize: A pair of tickets for a film of your choice at ActOne Cinema.
