About Disney’s The Lion King

Disney’s The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre, London, is the internationally celebrated musical based on Disney’s beloved film. Reimagined by acclaimed director Julie Taymor, it follows Simba’s journey from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands.

The production is presented with colourful staging, special effects and music, bringing the story to the stage in a large-scale theatre format.

The running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one interval.

Key facts: Performances run Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2.30pm.

Before you book

We recommend The Lion King for ages 6+. Children under 3, including babies in arms, will not be admitted. All persons aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. Everyone entering the theatre, regardless of age, needs a ticket.

Venue doors open 90 minutes before the start time. Guests should arrive in good time, as latecomers may need to wait before being seated and could miss part of the performance. Guests must be seated no later than 5 minutes before the show begins.

Tickets are sent by confirmation email. If you choose box office collection, print the confirmation and bring it on the day, at least 30 minutes before the performance start time. If you choose e-tickets, they will be emailed and can be printed at home. No refunds or exchanges are available after purchase. Strobe lighting is used several times during the performance.

Arrival times by seating area: Grand Circle standing positions, 45 minutes before start time; Stalls and Boxes E and K, 60 minutes before start time; Royal Circle and Boxes A, B, F and G, 75 minutes before start time.
