Explore the expressive possibilities of drawing in this 120-minute mixed-media workshop with London-based artist Kwesi Awotwi.

Working with a range of dry drawing materials, participants will explore line, shape, form, texture and expressive mark-making through a series of guided drawing exercises.

The workshop encourages participants to move beyond traditional approaches to drawing and discover how marks, lines and shapes can communicate ideas, feelings and personal experiences.

Rather than focusing on creating a “perfect” drawing, participants will be encouraged to embrace experimentation, develop confidence and explore their own individual approach to drawing.

Open to all abilities, Drawing with Expression offers a relaxed and supportive space to explore creativity, take risks and develop your own visual language.

Kwesi Awotwi is a London-based artist from Hackney whose practice explores identity, ancestry, memory, belonging and what it means to be Black British with Ghanaian heritage.

Participation is pay-what-you-can. All donations go directly to paying the artists and creatives that make Leyton Arts Festival possible.
