Create painted postcards, and we will pop them in the post for you

On the Second Saturday of every month, Guildhall Art Gallery runs themed family events. Our revolving programme of family activities may have you heading into the Roman Amphitheatre and hearing tales of Roman conquests or creating crafts from the Victorian paintings surrounding you.

For August's Second Saturday, as you've decided to join us on your summer holiday, we will be helping you create hand-painted postcards for you to tell someone about your visit. We will even be posting them off for you:

11 am - 4 pm Creative Activities:

Did you know that postcards and day trips both exploded in popularity in Victorian times? Come and write and paint your own with us, and pop it in our postbox to share the magic with someone of your choice.

11 am and 2 pm Story Time:

Story time celebrating art, artists, London and the City.

There will also be a book corner with cushions, costumes, and soft play building bricks.

There is plenty to explore in the Art Gallery, so plan to make a day of it. You can bring your lunch to have outside in Guildhall Yard or in our large cloakroom area.

Admission

The activities are free; however, booking is encouraged as it helps the Gallery ensure they have enough resources for everybody. Walk-ins are welcome on the day.

The Guildhall Art Gallery is free to enter and offers plenty to explore, so plan to make a day of it. You can bring your lunch to enjoy outside in Guildhall Yard or in the gallery's large cloakroom area.

This event is for children aged 3 to 13 and their families. It is not suitable for individual adults.
