Since being named Jazz FM Vocalist of the Year in 2020 , Judi has built a reputation as one of the most captivating voices in contemporary jazz. Her major label debut Grace on Sony Music received widespread international acclaim, alongside standout appearances including BBC Two’s Later… with Jools Holland . Her 2024 album My American Songbook marked a defining moment in her career, celebrated with a sold-out performance at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the London Jazz Festival . The project showcases Judi’s ability to reinterpret classic repertoire with elegance, originality and emotional depth, bringing a fresh perspective to songs that have stood the test of time. Raised in Roanoke, Virginia, Judi began singing and playing piano in her church choir, drawing early inspiration from legends including Betty Carter, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone.
