A free 30-minute Black History guided walk to the graves of some of the people featured in a forthcoming book on Hackney's Black history.

Walk through Abney Park and visit the graves of some of the people featured in Honouring Our Own, a forthcoming book on Hackney's Black history.

The tour stops at the graves of Joanna Vassa, Thomas Caulker, Eric Walrond and Joseph Jackson Fuller, with the stories behind their extraordinary lives.

Date: Saturday 17 October

Tours run at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm, each lasting thirty minutes – please book the time that suits you.

Meeting point: outside Abney Park Café, N16 0LH

Accessibility: the meeting point at the park's main entrance on Stoke Newington High Street has level access. Within the park, the internal drive from the main entrance is cobbled and the major paths are solid but uneven in places and can be slightly muddy when wet, and smaller paths can be narrow, uneven and slippery. There are several benches with back rests around the park. Accessible toilets are in the Sable café building by the main entrance. If you have specific access needs, please message us via Eventbrite before the day so we can help you plan your visit.
