'Keep Calm and Carry On' is a rehearsed reading scheduled for 16 October 2026 at QMUL ArtsOne in London. The performance explores themes of identity and heritage through the experiences of a young woman caught in an anti-immigration march.
A young woman finds herself lost in an anti-immigration march on her way to celebrate her birthday.
There's racism everywhere! You just have to pick which intensity you prefer, like in Nando's.
Jumping between the anti-immigration protests and Notting Hill Carnival, ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ asks, what happens when you try to walk the avenues between a British identity and Caribbean heritage and where do you end up? It explores how being Black British impacts womanhood, insecurity, faith, and the need for approval.
Join us for an evening of new writing followed by a Q&A.
