About This Event

The King's Cross History Walk will take place on 26 September 2026, starting at St Pancras Lock in London. This guided walking tour explores the area's transformation from industrial roots to contemporary developments, highlighting its rich history and tranquil locations. Tickets are priced between £7.50 and £10.00.

A guided walking tour of this iconic area - soak up its story, from industrial grit to modern reinvention and the peaceful spots in between.

About this Event

Event Description: Join us for a curated wander and sense how London has changed from industrial powerhouse to modern, international icon. Take a stroll, get some air, meet new people and learn in a friendly atmosphere. Canal & River Trust Walk Leaders are trained and knowledgeable, helping you to discover the secrets of the area and the benefits of being by water.

King's Cross History Walk - Various dates and times.

The short circular walk will start and finish at St. Pancras Lock on Regent's Canal towpath (an easy to find landmark north of King's Cross station, near the Gas Holders).

Stopping along the 2 mile route, your guide will share information about the famous landmarks of the area, such as Coal Drops Yard and Granary Square, explaining how canals, coal and railways transformed the story of King's Cross & St.Pancras. See a building that moved, the route of a lost river and one of London's oldest churches.

For these dates only, you can also see inside the Victorian Water Tower, opened by St. Pancras Cruising Club between 10:00 and 15:30.

You don't need any specialist kit to join a walk, but please wear comfortable shoes, bring layers and waterproofs appropriate for the weather, and a drink.

Toilets are available midway on the route and there are plenty of places for refreshment before or after your walk.

Please book one time slot per person and arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked slot. These sessions are designed for adults, accompanied children from seven years old are also welcome. The walk is easy grade along flat paths, with no steps.

Walk ins will not be accepted.
