About My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?)
My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?) is an autobiographical show by West End Musical Theatre star and social-media sensation Rob Madge. It centres on a childhood attempt to stage a full Disney parade at home for Rob’s grandmother, with Rob performing as Mary Poppins, Ariel, Mickey Mouse and Belle while their dad took on multiple backstage roles.
The story follows the parade as it went wrong, from missed cues to costumes that did not quite work as planned, while still keeping the focus on the family event itself. Rob now sets out to recreate that parade, bringing the story back to the stage in a personal, theatrical retelling.
The production was awarded Best Off-West End Production 2022 by WhatsOnStage.
Running time: 1 hour 5 minutes.
