Thirty years after redefining musical theatre, RENT returns to the West End at the Duke of York's Theatre on St. Martin's Lane, London. Directed by Luke Sheppard, this new production brings Jonathan Larson's story of love, loss and survival back to the stage with Gaten Matarazzo as Mark. Inspired by Puccini's La Bohème, the show centres on a generation facing uncertainty while holding fast to community and resilience. Running for two hours and 45 minutes including one interval, the performance explores themes of connection in a world defined by HIV/AIDS, bereavement and the determination to make every moment count.
