The Roman London Family Quest returns! Grab your little gladiators, put on your helmets, and head forth to conquer Londinium.

Once again Guildhall Art Gallery and London’s Roman Amphitheatre, London Museum, and London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE are joining forces to explore Roman Londinium on this fun, interactive family day.

Pick up and complete all three sections of the Roman London Family Quest trail and claim your free prize.

At Guildhall Art Gallery & London's Roman Amphitheatre:

Make and Take - Create your own net of the Colosseum or a fabulous Roman Temple.

Artefact tray - Become an archaeologist and examine some genuine Roman artfacts.

Roman Minecraft - Use Minecraft to create your own Roman building with colleagues from London Museum

Story corner - We always provide a book corner where you can sink into stories. We have a huge collection of books about art and history.

Specific Under-5s activity - Building blocks will be available for Under-5's in the story corner.

Quiet space - The Heritage Study Room will be reserved as a quiet space with ear defenders and sensory toys for those that need it.

At London Mithreaum Bloomberg SPACE:

Create a Roman soldier helmet and shield, as well as explore the Roman Temple of Mithras - book your free time slot for the London Mithraeum Blooomberg SPACE on the Mithraeum website

A 'walking tour bus' will lead families between the two venues, or pick-up a free map at either location.

Admission

The activities are free; however, booking is encouraged as it helps the Gallery ensure they have enough resources for everybody. Walk-ins are welcome on the day.

The Guildhall Art Gallery is free to enter and offers plenty to explore, so plan to make a day of it. You can bring your lunch to enjoy outside in Guildhall Yard or in the gallery's large cloakroom area.

This event is for children aged 5 to 11 and their families. It is not suitable for individual adults.
