About Room on the Broom (2026)

Room on the Broom (2026) at the Lyric Theatre is a Tall Stories production based on the picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. It brings the story from page to stage in a theatre show built around the witch, her cat and their journey on the broomstick.

The witch and her cat collect a friendly dog, a beautiful green bird and a frantic frog, but the broom snaps in two just as a hungry dragon appears. The show is Olivier Award-nominated and follows the question of whether there will be room on the broom for the witch and her four passengers.

Running time: 60 minutes. Performance dates: 27th November 2026 to 3rd January 2027.

Before you book

This show is suitable for audiences aged 3 and up. A BSL performance takes place on Friday 11th December 2026 at 1.30pm. The audio-described performance is on Tuesday 1st December 2026 at 1.30pm, with a Touch Tour at 12.30pm.
