About The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical about the shadowy Phantom who lives beneath the Paris Opera House and the love he holds for Christine Daaé. The show first opened on Thursday 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, detailed scenery and special effects bring the story to life. The Phantom of the Opera has won 70 major theatre awards and has been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Key facts: Running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one interval. Performances are on Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and on Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under 4 will not be admitted. Anyone aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own in the auditorium. Every person entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket, which should be printed and brought on the day. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance start time, and you may also need to present valid ID. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.

Seats: Stalls Row N-S have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
