About The Phantom of the Opera
The Phantom of the Opera is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, set far beneath the Paris Opera House, where the Phantom lives in shadow and his love for Christine Daaé drives the story. The production combines the score with scenery and special effects to bring this tragic love story to the stage.
It first opened at His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday 9 October 1986, with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles. Since then, it has become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time, won 70 major theatre awards, and been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.
Running time: 2 hours and 30 minutes including one interval. Performance times: Monday to Friday 7.30pm; Saturday 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Before you book
Children under the age of 4 will not be admitted. All persons aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.
You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket. Please print it and bring it on the day, and plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance start time. You may also need to present valid ID.
No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase. Please note that Stalls Row N-S will have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang, and single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
