About The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera is playing at 57 Haymarket, London. Set beneath the Paris Opera House, the musical follows the Phantom, whose hidden existence and love for Christine Daaé drive the story. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, the scenery and the special effects combine to bring this tragic love story to the stage.

The show first opened at His Majesty’s Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles. Since then, it has become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time, winning 70 major theatre awards and being seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Running time: 2 hours and 30 minutes including one interval. Performance times: Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under 4 will not be admitted. All guests aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. Everyone entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket, which should be printed and brought on the day. The theatre recommends arriving at least 30 minutes before the performance start time, and you may also need to show valid ID. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.

Please note that Stalls Row N-S will have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
