About The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty's Theatre, London, is set beneath the Paris Opera House, where the Phantom lives in shadow and his feelings for Christine Daaé shape a tragic love story. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, together with the production’s scenery and special effects, bring the musical’s gothic world to the stage.

The show first opened at His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles. Since then, it has become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time, won 70 major theatre awards and been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Running time: 2 hours and 30 minutes including one interval. Performance times: Monday to Friday 7.30pm; Saturday 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under 4 will not be admitted. Anyone aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. Every person entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket. Please print it and bring it with you on the day, and arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance starts. You may also need to present valid ID. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.

Stalls Row N-S have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
