About The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera is a musical set beneath the Paris Opera House, where the Phantom lives in a shadowy existence and his love for Christine Daaé drives the story. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, scenery and special effects are used to present the production on stage.

First opened at His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday 9 October 1986, the show has gone on to become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time. It has won 70 major theatre awards and has been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Running time: 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one interval. Performances: Monday to Friday at 7.30pm; Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under the age of 4 will not be admitted. All persons aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. Every person entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket. Please print and bring it on the day, and the theatre recommends arriving at least 30 minutes before the performance starts. You may also need to present valid ID. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.

Please note that Stalls Row N-S will have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
