Holding Space for Women: A Poetry & Creative Writing Workshop
Join us for an evening of gentle creativity, connection and reflection at Holding Space for Women: a 2-hour in-person poetry and creative writing workshop. All women are welcome. No writing experience needed.
Through guided meditation, creative writing, and collaborative tasks, you'll explore your own journey through girlhood to womanhood in a safe, nurturing space.
There will be soft music and plenty of time to connect with other women over shared words and experience.
You'll leave with new writing, new connections and a collaborative poem that belongs to the whole group.
Come as you are. Bring an open heart. All words and stories are welcome.
When: Thursday 10th September 2026, 6 PM- 8 PM
Where: Seesaw Studios, Manchester
Cost: £10 (£8 early bird offer).
About the facilitator:
Emma-Jane Barlow (EJ) is a neurodivergent poet, author and spoken word performer from Manchester, UK. Author of Darkness & Light and Sins & Sunflowers. Longlisted for the Heroica Poetry Prize (2024) and runner-up for the Happiful Poetry Prize (2025). She currently facilitates online workshops called Holding Space and is editing her third collection.
