A free 10-week programme in Chesterfield where young people can explore bands, sound & lighting, media, content creation and backstage skill

Creative Connections is a FREE 10-week music and live events programme for young people aged 14–17, delivered by Cairo Amplified CIC in Chesterfield.

Created for young people who may love music and creativity but don't always feel comfortable in traditional groups or activities, the programme is particularly suited to those who are neurodivergent, experience anxiety or low confidence, or find social situations difficult. No diagnosis is required.

This isn't about auditions, grades or already knowing how to play an instrument. It's about giving young people a supportive, practical space to explore what interests them, build confidence, learn new skills and connect with others.

Young people can get involved in:

🎸 Band Sessions – explore instruments, vocals, playing together and forming a band

🎚️ Sound & Lighting – get hands-on with the technical side of live music

📸 Media & Content Creation – photography, filming and creating content around live events

🎤 Backstage Skills – discover what happens behind the scenes to make a live event happen

The programme will work towards a live showcase, giving young people the chance to put their new skills into practice. And there's no pressure to perform on stage – there are plenty of ways to be part of the show.
