During the workshop, you will produce an illuminated letter using colour paint and gold leaf. The session guides you through the full process: initial tracing, laying gold size, applying gold leaf, and finally colour painting and outlining. You will work on a pre-designed capital letter using the same methods as medieval illuminators.

The course is suitable for beginners, and all necessary tools and materials are included.

The event is a full day workshop held at the Sandwich Medieval Centre in Margate on 11 October 2026 starting at 10:00. Tickets are priced at £54.88.
