The Northern Design Centre in Newcastle will host a workshop titled AI: Myths, Risks & Benefits on 28 October 2026. The session starts at 09:30 and aims to address concerns regarding the use of artificial intelligence. Admission is free.
Want to start using artificial intelligence but worried about the risks? This workshop is here to help you.
AI brings real risks alongside the benefits and a lot of organisations are walking into them without realising.
This session is a plain look at where things can go wrong and what it might cost you. We will cover how businesses end up handing over their intellectual property without meaning to, often through everyday use of free tools that train on whatever you feed them.
We will look at how personal information gets exposed and what that means for you and the people you hold data about.
There is also the money side, as many organisations have already been caught out by runaway costs when nobody kept an eye on their usage of AI.
You will leave knowing what to watch for and the practical steps that reduce your exposure.
This sessions is aimed at small businesses and charities who want to use AI sensibly without getting burned. No prior technical knowledge needed.
