Hosted by Rob Winter, this five-week Arts & Crafts course takes place at The Brandling Villa in Newcastle. Various workshops will run throughout September and October 2026, allowing participants to learn new techniques and create items to take home each week. Attendees must book a place for the full course as it is not open to drop-ins. Tickets are priced at £27.80 per participant.
5 week arts & crafts course at The Brandling Villa
Come join Rob Winter for a 5 week Arts & Crafts extravaganza at The Branding Villa. Each week you will create something to take home, whilst learning a new skill from our beloved tutor.
All materials are provided.
Course content:
Tuesday 1st September (7pm-9pm)
Sgraffito - Guests are taught how to draw into clay tiles, which will be taken away and fired. Tiles will be ready to collect 2 weeks following the event.
Tuesday 8th September (7pm-9pm)
Decal plate painting - Modern design. Guests will be presented with decal transfers to apply to pre fired plates, which will be taken away and fired. Plates will be ready to collect 2 weeks after the event.
Tuesday 15th September (7pm-9pm)
Still life - ‘Morandi’ theme. Guests will be tutored in still life drawing in the style of Giorgio Morandi.
Tuesday 22nd September (7pm-9pm)
Life drawing - Pre-Raphaelite theme. Our tutor will guide guests through clothed life drawing session. Based on the work of the Pre-Raphaelite movement in art.
Tuesday 29th September (7pm-9pm)
Portrait with collage - Guests will be guided through portraiture using the medium of collage.
