In this workshop, you will be introduced to Coptic binding - a technique with features including, an exposed-spine and a flat-lay design ideal for sketchbooks - and the two stitches involved, Coptic and Kettle. Participants will be provided with specialist tools and guided through the process to produce their own hand-bound book.

This session is open to all levels; no previous experience is needed.

Please note: the binding process covered in the session can be adapted to be accessible - all principles remain the same and are directly applicable when using dedicated binding tools and materials. Please contact hello@creativeworkshopsnecic.com if you have any questions or access requirements.

This workshop is delivered by Creative Workshops NE CIC, a not-for-profit company focusing on wellbeing outcomes through art. We serve communities that often feel excluded and would benefit from art practice, such as queer, neurodiverse and low-income groups.
