Join us to celebrate the amazing dragonflies and damselflies of Gosforth Nature Reserve.

This beginner-friendly walk will be conducted at Gosforth Nature Reserve, where ponds support a variety of dragonfly species, including Black Darter, Common Hawker, Common Darter and Migrant Hawker. It is exciting to observe these species, their aerodynamics and behaviours like mating, egg-laying, etc.

The last walk of the season, this event may also provide an opportunity to observe the rare Willow Emerald damselfly.

Please wear suitable clothing and a hat as it might be sunny or warm. You can also wear wellies to walk around the pond and bring a pair of binoculars for an enhanced dragonfly watching experience.
