Enjoy a closer look at some of the colourful Waxcaps found in Gosforth's Wild Web, recording them as part of an exciting new project.

About this event

Join us in search of waxcaps - beautiful, colourful little fungi that are indicators of healthy, undisturbed grassland habitats. We’ll take our time exploring the sights and sounds of autumn, spotting some of the wonderful fungi that grow in the Newburn area and recording key finds for NHSN’s new North East Waxcaps project.

Please bring weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear, along with snacks and/or a flask of something warm to drink if you wish.

Join the project on iRecord and share your finds here (https://irecord.org.uk/join/north-east-waxcaps).
