Join us for a relaxed guided walk along Gosforth Nature Reserve's reedbeds and pond margins in search of the water ladybird. Together, we'll look for this fascinating little beetle while keeping a watchful eye out for other ladybirds associated with damp habitats.

Surveying nearby areas of Gorse, we should also encounter a host of other ladybirds including the 7-Spot, Harlequin and maybe, Pine Ladybird. All sightings will be recorded as part of NHSN's North East Ladybird Spot (https://www.nhsn.org.uk/the-north-east-ladybird-spot/).

Suitable for all ages and experience levels. No prior recording experience is needed.

Sweep nets will be provided; however, we encourage you to bring your own equipment if you have any.

If you take any photos while attending the event, please do share with NHSN by emailing james.common@newcastle.ac.uk.
