This interactive one-hour workshop invites participants to explore the craft of storytelling through the exciting world of Young Adult fantasy.

Led by a published YA fantasy author Katherine Livesey, the session introduces the key ingredients of compelling stories, including worldbuilding, character creation, and conflict, using accessible prompts and practical creative exercises.

Designed for writers and readers of all experience levels, the workshop encourages imagination and creative expression in a supportive environment. Participants will experiment with developing their own fantasy concepts, from creating unusual worlds and believable characters to generating the beginnings of an original story.

Alongside hands-on writing activities, participants will gain insight into the writing process and the realities of becoming an author exploring how ideas develop from first sparks of inspiration into finished books. By the end of the session, participants will leave with practical storytelling tools, fresh ideas, and greater confidence in their own creative voice.
