Whether you're a seasoned writer or just looking to unleash your creativity, this event is all about expressing yourself and exploring new ideas.

Come along, with a head for words and a heart full of memories, to write a short history of your time in the city of Newport. Tell us about the places, far away from the city landmarks, that have made Newport your city: the cinemas and pubs, the riversides and parks, the classrooms, shop doorways and views from the windows.

From first meetings and marriage proposals to gigs, friendships and futures: let’s look at how the city held us while we lived our lives.

These relaxed 2-hour sessions, led by South Wales writer Tracey Rhys, are for anyone who wants to explore how the city of Newport has touched their life for the better. Writing produced will culminate in a ‘postcard’ that will potentially feature in a public exhibition in a town centre venue.
