The only Monastery in the UK to avoid the dissolution by Henry VIII - St Benet's Abbey dates back over 1000 years to the time of King Cnut. There are many stories to tell about this fascinating site & our volunteer tour guides will share these & their knowledge of uprisings, connections to Norwich Cathedral, graffiti & so much more. (Please note that the tour guide will choose which stories to tell, so tours will vary)

Your £5.00 Ticket fee is used for the upkeep and preservation of this and other NAT sites.

The starting point for the tour at the top of the steps and is sign posted. Walk from the car park through the access path to a gate and the steps are directly in front of you. From the moorings walk towards the mill and along the access path to the site, as you reach the site the meeting point is immediatley in front of you.
