This eight-week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course is designed specifically for men to help manage stress and quiet the inner critic. Held at MensCraft in Norwich, the sessions provide practical tools for achieving mental calm and improving overall wellbeing. The programme begins on 8 September 2026 at 18:30.
Join our 8-week MBCT course for men to quiet the inner noise, tame your inner critic, and find calm.
Feeling stuck in your head, constantly overthinking, or caught in a loop of low moods?
Your thoughts aren't facts. Learn how to treat them that way.
Discover a different way of relating to your mind with our 8-week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course. Designed specifically for men, this course offers a supportive, non-judgmental, and confidential space to understand how your mind works and break free from habitual mental ruts.
Research pioneered by the University of Oxford overwhelmingly shows that combining mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy is highly effective at preventing downward spirals. Instead of trying to control what you think, you’ll learn how to change the power those thoughts have over you.
Over eight weeks, you will learn practical tools to help you:
Spot the early warning signs of a dipping mood or spiralling thoughts before they take over.
Step back from the "inner critic" and treat your thoughts as passing mental events, rather than absolute facts.
Interrupt automatic overthinking and ruminating, shifting from constant worrying to being fully present.
Cultivate self-compassion and resilience by learning to stop battling with yourself.
Enjoy life’s positive moments instead of living in your head.
What other men have said about our MBSR course:
"The course benefitted me immensely. I wanted to get on top of my reactivity and impulsivity, which often caused problems in my relationships. Along with making some other lifestyle changes, I've been able to be more thoughtful about how I approach every aspect of my life."
"Doing the daily practice isn't always easy, but I always looked forward to the sessions with the other guys. It was a really great group, very diverse in terms of reasons for being there, everyone very open and prepared to look inwards and share."
"The course outstripped all expectations; James facilitated amazingly, inviting us to partake as worked best for us, developing based on feedback, listening to what the participants needed and delivering that weekly. I feel less stressed, more in control, calmer, clearer, better, more well (weller!?) off the back of this time."
