An evening celebrating the launch of 3 films created using AI LENS, a Turing AI Fellowship Somabotics Creatively Embodying AI project.
Join the Turing AI Fellowship: Somabotics – Creatively Embodying AI for a special evening celebrating the launch and screening of three short films created through the Fellowship's AI LENS project.
AI LENS is a creative research project exploring new ways for filmmakers and artists to interact with artificial intelligence in real time. By using AI-generated imagery, the project enables more embodied, collaborative, and experimental approaches to working with AI technologies.
Developed through a series of workshops and collaborative activities, AI LENS has brought together artists, researchers, and filmmakers to investigate how people collectively make sense of the worlds they are creating with AI. The project has generated insights into how AI can support creative practice while encouraging reflection on its expanding role within the creative industries.
AI LENS is delivered in partnership with the Virtual and Immersive Production (VIP) Studio at the University of Nottingham, Auckland University of Technology, and Makers of Imaginary Worlds.
The evening will begin at 7.00pm in Screen 1 and will feature:
Basilisk – Directed by Richard Ramchurn
The Last Call – Directed by Floyd Parker
Amorphous – Directed by Sumit Sarkar
Following the screenings, audiences will be invited to join a brief panel discussion exploring the opportunities, challenges, and future implications of AI in filmmaking and the wider creative sector.
This free event is open to UKAI Conference delegates, members of the public, the creative industries practitioners, researchers, students, artists, filmmakers, and anyone interested in AI, creativity, and emerging technologies.
Come and experience innovative new filmmaking, hear directly from the creators, and join the conversation about the future of AI and creative practice. Places are free however booking is essential.
