Blue Stockings: Women Supporting Women. Facing Up to Hard Things is a women's business roundtable held at THiNK in Nottingham. Attendees are asked to bring food, wisdom and practical help. Tickets range from free to £10.00.

Join us in Emma's garden in Nottingham for another round table discussion.
As business owners and freelancers, we all have to face hard things.
When you are working on your own, you can put off doing things that need to be done. Nobody is going to come after you & nobody keeps you in-check.
What are some of the things you find hard to tackle?These may be different for different people? Difficult admin, difficult conversations, difficult decisions.
What strategies do others use?
Learn from others how to make things easier on yourself.
Have you wisdom to share?
Sometimes its good just to be able to tell others about it, sometimes others have been there before & have great tips on how to make things a little easier, sometimes its good to know you're not on your own.

Sharing wisdom and tips over lunch.
We'd love you to join us for lunch - it's a bring and share so please bring a vegetarian or vegan dish or anything that fits a particular diet you follow. We will supply a free glass of bubbly - both alcoholic and not.
Expect a relaxed atmosphere, opportunities to ask questions and to share information and offers from your business.
The address will be supplied to ticket holders. We recommend coming on bus or tram & then there's a 5 min walk at the end.
If it rains we will run the meeting online instead and will send you the link to join us.
This meeting is free for Blue Stockings Monthly Subscribers and £10 for guests, so do invite your friends to get a ticket too.
We find that in-person people often want longer for meeting and having conversations, so you can arrive anytime from 11.30 for informal networking and the meeting starts with introductions at noon,

About Blue Stockings
The Blue Stockings Society was formed over ten years ago by three Nottingham businesswomen who wanted a different kind of business network for women. There are now over 1900 members in our free Facebook Group. You can join us if you are a women running your own business (or thinking about it) and want to be part of a supportive community that will help you and your business to grow.
We hold monthly meetings which you can pay for individually or become a Blue Stockings Monthly Subscriber for £2.50 /mth and attend as many online events as you like for free and discounted in-person events.

Emma Torrance
She's an independent SFEDI qualified Business Adviser with 14 years experience providing business advice to freelancers, small businesses, social enterprises and business support organisations including Nottingham Trent University and Enterprising Ashfield. She co-runs our Blue Stockings Network, is Company Manager of a small Theatre of Sanctuary, previously managed and ran organisations for over 20 years. She co-ran THiNK , a meeting room hire, gallery & cafe in the centre of Nottingham. For more info on her please see her linked in profile
Jeanne Booth
Jeanne is co-founder of Blue Stockings and a higher education freelancer and businesswoman with 20+ years practical experience of running businesses, including meeting spaces, art galleries, cafe, training courses, markets, exhibitions and events. She was chair of East Midlands Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts and a founding director of Nottingham Cohousing. She now runs Curated by Jeanne helping small and volunteer-run gift shops boost their sales while giving artists and makers more opportunities to get their work seen and sold.
