Feminism 101 is a one-day course scheduled for 21 November 2026 at The Grove in Nottingham. The course aims to educate participants on key feminist concepts and the relevance of feminism in contemporary society. It is open to all individuals, regardless of gender, and attendance is free.
Feminism 101 is the one day course for everyone who wants to understand what feminism is, why we need it in 2026 and how they can take action. This course is open to everybody regardless of gender.
WHAT WE'LL COVER:
This course will cover everything you need to understand key terms and feminist ideas including:
What is feminism?
Understanding patriarchy, power & privilege
Why we need feminism and how it is relevant in all our lives
We'll also talk about what to DO with that knowledge and the practical ways you can make change including:
Every day activism and 'micro-feminism' - the day to day actions that can change culture
Everyday campaigning - what feminist campaigning is and how you can do something about the issues that matter to you
WHO RUNS THE COURSE?
All Of Us is a Nottingham based group of campaigners and feminists who have experience working on successful local and national campaigns (including seeing misogyny recognised as a motivator for hate crime for the first time nationally right here in Nottingham). The day will include a mix of presentations and practical exercises to keep you engaged and energised throughout. These sessions are for everyone - you don't need to call yourself a feminist, you don't need to have ever studied/thought about these issues before - all you need is a curiosity to learn more and a willingness to show up!
TICKETS:
We ask for a suggested donation of £15 per person towards basic event costs - like printing, snacks and materials, which we will collect on the day. If you can't afford this for any reason then we also offer some subsidised places so money isn't a barrier to anyone getting involved. We are a grassroots group and exist solely on the basis of donations so if you are able to pay a little more and would like to cover the cost of a subsidised place we also offer Supporter tickets at £30.
Ticket options:
1. Regular Entry - £15 - to pay on the door
2. Subsidised place - Free (or whatever you can afford)
3. Supporter Place - £30 (covers your ticket and one subsidised place)
Tickets include:
- Your place
- Course materials - included a printed resource pack to take home with you
- Snacks on the day
Please note - drinks are not included in the ticket price, we are kindly hosted by the Grove and their bar will be open throughout the day for drinks. We will take a break for lunch, there are several places nearby where you can buy food or you are of course welcome to bring a packed lunch with you
