About This Event

Bringing Nottingham's family and early-years community together to connect, share and create opportunities. We're excited to launch the very first NBT Connect Community Conversations — an informal Sunday morning gathering for local providers, businesses, organisations, charities and community leaders connected to families, children and the early-years community. 📅 Sunday 18th October 2026 ⏰ 10am–12pm 📍 Fisher Gate Point, 1 Fisher Gate, Nottingham, NG1 1GD Home of Devasation Station and Creative Spaces in the heart of Nottingham city centre. 💬 What are Community Conversations? This isn't traditional networking. There won't be a room full of people taking turns to give a sales pitch or simply swapping business cards. Instead, it's a chance to sit down, meet others, have honest conversations, share experiences and explore how we can support and learn from one another. We'll talk about the things that matter to our community right now — including: What families really want and need The current challenges facing family-focused businesses and organisations Are classes and activities quieter than they used to be? Why are families enquiring but not always attending? How can we improve communication with families? The realities of running a small business and rising costs What's working well for you — and what isn't? Collaboration rather than competition Gaps in local provision and how we could work together Ideas for future events, projects and opportunities 🤝 Who is it for? Community Conversations is for anyone involved in supporting families and children across Nottingham and the surrounding areas, including: Baby and toddler groups Children's activity providers Practitioners and freelancers Family-focused businesses Venues and event providers Charities and community organisations Early-years professionals Local organisations and community leaders Whether you've been established for years or are just starting out, your experience, ideas and perspective are valuable. 🌱 Come with ideas. Leave with connections. The conversation will be shaped by the people in the room. You might come with a challenge you'd like to talk through, an idea you'd like to explore, something you've learned that could help others — or simply a desire to meet other people doing similar things. There may also be opportunities to identify potential collaborations, partnerships and future projects that could benefit both providers and the families we serve. 💛 A community built together NBT Connect has always been about bringing people together, supporting local providers and creating opportunities for families.
