Managing Worry & Overthinking – A Guided Self-Help Session

This session introduces an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach to worry and overthinking, designed for individuals who feel caught in cycles of repetitive thinking and want a different way of relating to their minds.

Participants will:

Understand why trying to control or suppress worried thoughts often makes them stronger and what to do instead

Learn to recognise when they have become fused with worried thoughts (taking them literally and acting as if they were facts)

Practice defusion techniques to create distance from overthinking without needing to eliminate it

Explore how worry can function as a form of experiential avoidance, keeping you mentally busy to avoid sitting with uncertainty

Identify what values-based action looks like even when worry is present

Leave with simple, portable tools they can use independently in everyday life

Exclusively for Rushcliffe residents 18+ registered with a Rushcliffe GP.

Only one booking is permitted per person. Additional bookings may be cancelled to ensure fairness.
