About This Event

The Nottingham - People, Planet, Pint picnic will take place on 2026-08-22 at the Arboretum in Nottingham, featuring a community litter pick and meeting People Planet Pint founder Adam Bastock.

A summer picnic, community litter pick and opportunity to meet People Planet Pint founder Adam Bastock.

People Planet Pint Nottingham is heading out of the pub – and everyone is invited. Partners, friends, children - and well-behaved dogs - are all welcome.

1.00 – 2.00 pm Join the community litter pick

Before the picnic, there is a community litter pick around the Arboretum. All equipment will be provided, including litter pickers, bags and gloves for those who have registered.

Meet at 1.00 pm at the main Waverley Street entrance, near the café. We will finish in time to join the picnic at 2.00 pm.

Nathan Truesdale, Nottingham City Council’s Clean Champions Co-ordinator, joined us at last month’s People Planet Pint. He will explain how the litter pick supports the Arboretum’s Green Flag status – a practical example of conversations in the pub leading to positive action beyond it.

2.00 – 5.00 pm Join the community picnic

Join us for a relaxed afternoon in the Arboretum – bring a picnic and if you are keen to show off your baking skills perhaps something to share.

Meet near the bandstand at the what3words reference evenly.link.rugs – which seems appropriate for a tidy picnic.

The Arboretum does not allow glass bottles or barbecues.

Meet Adam Bastock

PPP founder Adam Bastock, normally based in Glasgow, will be joining us. Come and say hello, hear what is next for People Planet Pint and find out how you might get more involved.

Registration

The picnic and litter pick are both free, but please register one place for every person attending, including partners and children.

Choose from:

Litter pick and picnic

For each person taking part in the litter pick and staying for the picnic.

Picnic only

For each person joining us from 2.00 pm.

Supporting People Planet Pint

People Planet Pint events are free to attend and supported largely through voluntary effort. There is no expectation to contribute, but optional donations help fund the infrastructure behind PPP, grow the network and increase our positive impact. A donation does not reserve a place – please also select a free ticket for each person attending.

What happens if it rains?

We will keep an eye on the forecast and contact everyone who has registered if the arrangements need to change

A better future is possible today – and it starts at the pub, but sometimes it continues in the park!

People, Planet, Pint

No pitches, powerpoints or panels. Just People, Planet, Pint/s.

Your local meetup is a great place to start your journey or continue learning, and meet diverse people to chat about life and how we can sustain it. Every job is a climate job, so come along and learn about how you can take action, as well as what is going on locally.

We welcome everyone, regardless of their experience or background. People Planet Pint is a space where everyone can feel comfortable learning about sustainability and sharing their ideas.

Afterall, creating a sustainable future requires connected communities. And what better way to bring everyone together than over a drink?
