Bitesize Revisited: Creative Flower Photography is scheduled for 12 January 2027 at 09:30 and features three workshops on Photoshop techniques. Participants will learn to create custom brushes for flowers, design seamless patterns from images, and apply texture effects to enhance portraits.
ALL OUR EVENTS ARE RECORDED ByteSize Revisited Creative Flower Photography IN 5 BYTES Small Workshops - Big Ideas! Workshop 1: Brushes that bloom. Make flowers feel hand-crafted and expressive using Photoshop’s brush engine—custom brush tips, pressure/flow control, and quick ways to build your own brush set. We’ll blend photography with brushwork for painterly accents, soft petal details and light “glow” effects, turning a good image into something truly personal. Workshop 2: Patterns, repeat designs, and beautiful backgrounds. Learn how to create (and edit) seamless patterns from your own images, then use them to design elegant backdrops, borders and decorative overlays. You’ll explore blend modes, masks and scaling tricks so patterns enhance the subject rather than overpower it—perfect for creative flower portraits, greeting cards and print-ready artwork. Workshop 3: Texture, atmosphere, and light. Add depth and emotion with textures and overlays—think paper grain, soft haze, painterly canvases and subtle vignettes. We’ll focus on tasteful layering: how to blend textures realistically, control contrast and colour, and use masks to shape light around your flower so the image feels richer, warmer, and more intentional. Workshop 4: Dreamy blurs and multiple exposures. Create motion, softness and a sense of “in-camera magic” using creative blurs and layered exposures. You’ll learn how to combine frames for luminous petals, gentle movement and controlled depth, then blend and mask with confidence so your final image feels ethereal—without looking accidental. Workshop 5: Watercolour and line drawing finishes. Turn your flower photo into artwork using watercolour brushes, artistic filters and controlled colour washes—then add elegant line drawings to define shape and detail. We’ll explore a few different looks (delicate sketch, bold ink, soft wash) and show how to keep everything editable, so you can refine your style and create a signature finish you’ll want to repeat.
