Namalee Bolle presents a workshop helping practitioners recognise and address multiracial interrogation fatigue. The session provides a clinical lens to understand how repeated questioning and pressure to pick a side shape disclosure, trust, and distress in clients.
Mixed and multiracial clients often arrive exhausted — they may be worn down by a lifetime of being interrogated with “what arrrrre you?” finding themselves over explaining their identity, before they've even begun to consciously process their own mixed experience. Repeatedly being told to ‘pick a side’ can lead to a lack of embodiment in full multiracial multiplicity. Presenting issues such as social anxiety, low mood, chronic self-consciousness and distraction tactics such as humour might be missed as indicators of multiracially coded distress. This workshop gives practitioners a clinical lens on multiracial interrogation fatigue: how to recognise it, how it shapes disclosure and trust, and how to build a space where the client doesn't have to do that work of explaining and justifying their complexity with you too.
**The Mixed + Multiracial Client in Therapy** is a 12-part CPD workshop series for therapists, counsellors and psychotherapists, developed alongside Namalee Bolle's book. Each workshop takes one chapter — from racial interrogation fatigue and interracial family dynamics through to embodiment, voice, trauma, community and legacy — and translates it into practice-ready clinical skill: what to notice, what to ask, and how to work relationally and ethically with mixed and multiracial clients navigating identity, family and healing. Across the series, the workshops build a coherent, chapter-by-chapter clinical companion to the book — standalone tools for a single session, and a cumulative grounding in mixed and multiracial mental health for those who complete the full set.
