A workshop focused on connecting the arts and humanities and medical education.

The network (formerly Medical Humanities Scholars Teaching in Medical Schools) returns to Harris Manchester College for our third workshop, this time with a focus on the arts and medical education. Once again the workshop is generously funded by the Uehiro Oxford Institute.

We are delighted to welcome our keynote speaker for the day, Professor Louise Younie (Queen Mary/Oxford) who will speak on 'Pockets of the Future: What the Arts Makes Possible in Medical Education'. Her bio is below.

As well as the keynote, we are keen to hear from our members about their work in medical education: our first session(s) will be flashtalks on any aspect of arts/humanities in medical education. If you want to give a flashtalk, please contact Richard Bellis, rtb8@st-andrews.ac.uk

We will also run the usual parallel sessions focusing on papers of interest to the network, which we will circulate in advance soon.

Please 'buy' a free ticket so we can be accurate with numbers. We will again try to provide a zoom link for the keynote session only.

Keynote Bio: Louise Younie is a Professor of Practice in Medical Education at the University of Oxford and Clinical Professor of Medical Education at Queen Mary University of London. She is chair of the Royal College of General Practitioner Creative Health Special Interest Group and has extensive experience of creative enquiry methodologies for humanising medicine, professional identity formation and human flourishing.
