Freedom to Dance – No Steps, No Talking
Ecstatic Dance is about freedom of movement and deep presence in a sober, conscious dance space. On the dance floor, we follow a few simple agreements:
No talking on the dance floor
No phones or photography
No alcohol or substances
Move however your body feels called
Dance solo or with others. There is no choreography, just music, movement, and the freedom to express yourself freely.
A Safe & Inclusive Space
Ecstatic Dance Oxford is open to all backgrounds, identities, and levels of dance experience. You are invited to move at your own pace in a supportive community space.
Many dancers with a 5Rhythms background or previous ecstatic dance experience join alongside complete beginners, creating a diverse conscious movement community.
Ecstatic Dance is part of a growing global movement of sober dance events, offering a powerful and accessible way to reconnect with your body, express emotion, and experience music in a deeper way.
Consent & Respect
Consent is essential to creating a safe conscious dance space. Please be mindful of others and respect personal boundaries. Non-verbal connection is welcome, but all interaction should be mutual and respectful.
By honouring consent, we co-create a dance floor where everyone can feel free, safe, and supported.
A Musical Journey with Traxsky
Each Ecstatic Dance Oxford journey is a guided conscious dance experience curated by Traxsky, who curates a dynamic musical experience designed to support emotional release, creativity, and connection through rhythm and movement.
Expect a carefully crafted sound journey moving through a range of genres—from deep tribal rhythms and electronic beats to melodic and ambient soundscapes.
Special Guest Offerings
Some Ecstatic Dance Oxford events include optional guest-facilitated offerings to deepen the experience, such as:

These optional add-on experiences are available via our main booking page: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/ecstaticdanceoxford
These offerings are optional and available through separate ticket options, with all proceeds going directly to the guest facilitators. The ecstatic dance tickets don't include these extra offerings.
