Discover the beauty of Westings Meadow through the lens of nature photographer, botanist and ecologist Sarah Lambert.
Discover the beauty of Westings Meadow through the lens of nature photographer, botanist and ecologist Sarah Lambert on this relaxed one-hour photography walk.
As Langdyke Countryside Trust's Artist in Residence and a nature columnist for The Guardian, Sarah has lots of practical tips to share on observing and photographing the rich details that make this remarkable place so special. Whether you use a DSLR, compact camera or smartphone, you'll learn how to slow down, see nature differently and capture striking images while exploring the heritage and wildlife of Westings Meadow.
Suitable for all abilities – no previous photography experience is required. Just bring a camera or smartphone and a sense of curiosity. Please note that, as cameras and smartphones vary widely in their settings and controls, Sarah will be sharing general photographic principles rather than providing instruction on the operation of individual devices. An understanding of how to use your own camera or smartphone is therefore required.
Note that the walk follows uneven grassy paths and rough ground, so a reasonable level of mobility and walking stamina is required. Suitable for ages 14+. Young people under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
This event is part of The Heritage & Wildlife of Maxey Cut & Westings Meadow project, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
