Stone Walling Course at An Fos Vineyard (Weekend 1/2)

Join us and instructor Justin (from Just in Stone) for a hands-on 2-day traditional stone walling course at our community vineyard in the Tamar Valley. Funded by Farming in Protected Landscapes and organised by Tamar Grow Local CIC, this course is intended to promote traditional rural craft skills within the Tamar Valley.

Join this first weekend to engage in the beginning stages of restoring a traditional stone wall. You can choose to come along for just this one weekend session, or invest yourself in both sessions to better understand the intricacies associated with each step of the wall restoration process. The course will run from 9am - 3pm on both days.

No previous experience is needed. Tea, cakes and good chat will be provided for the course, and further details will be sent to you upon confirmation of booking. Please remember that walling is a very physical job, while the course will be run at a pace to suit you, please let us know if you have any concerns with the activities included. We look forward to seeing you there!

Before booking, please note that all attendees must:

• Be aged 18 or over

• Be able to carry out manual work (including heavy lifting) outdoors for approximately 6 hours per day

• Not have a pre-existing medical condition where manual work and lifting could make the condition worse

The course is free to attend, but we do require a £20 deposit + Eventbrite's booking fee. The £20 deposit will be refunded upon attendance of both days of the weekend session. Unfortunately we are unable to refund Eventbrite's own fees.

Please note that although taught by a professional walling instructor, this course is not designed for commercial landscaping or building workers and does not lead to a formal qualification.
