Available to people with a Plymouth postcode or who are registered with a Plymouth GP.
Taking small steps towards a healthier lifestyle can make a big difference to your health and wellbeing. Whether you'd like to move more, improve your health habits, or connect with others on a similar journey, our weekly Walk and Talk sessions offer a friendly, welcoming and supportive environment.
Each session includes a gentle walk, followed by a hot drink and an informal discussion on a range of health and wellbeing topics. You might be looking for ways to overcome barriers, build healthier routines, improve your sleep, manage stress, eat more healthily, or simply find some motivation. Our Health Improvement Practitioners can provide evidence-based information and support to help you work towards your goals.
What to expect
A gentle 45-minute walk at your own pace
Opportunities to rest along the way, with no one left behind
A hot drink and friendly discussion after the walk
A safe and welcoming space to check in, celebrate progress, share challenges, and learn from others on a similar journey
Support to build long-term healthy habits
From time to time, we may also offer optional body composition measurements.
Please note: We cannot prescribe or advise on weight loss injections or medications. However, if you are using these treatments, we can still support you with healthy lifestyle changes.
If you are unable to take part in the walk but would still like to attend the talk, please let us know during the registration process. You will be asked to arrive one hour after the session start time.

After registering, one of our Health Improvement Practitioners will contact you to:

Discuss your health and wellbeing goals
Check that the Walk and Talk group is the most appropriate support for your needs. In some cases, we may recommend a different service or type of support that better meets your needs.

Cancellation Policy:
When delivering sessions our staff should always be treated with respect. Our Health Improvement Practitioners reserve the right to end delivery at any point if participants are not behaving respectfully and kindly.
There may be occasions when we will need to cancel a session due to weather, we will contct you at least 2 hours before the session if this happens. If the session is cancelled by Livewell Southwest, you will be offered a place on a the next availible session.
If you need to cancel you place on a session, you can do this through your Eventbrite account, or calling us on 01752 437177. We ask that you give as much notice as possible.
